General Rules
- The Committee of the Marlborough Pool Association reserves
the right to refuse the affiliation of any club or the registration of any team
if circumstances warrant.
- The Committee of the Marlborough Pool Association reserves
the right to declare a pool table or area unsuitable for match play if circumstances
warrant.
- Proxy Voting is not permitted
- Most Wins Trophies: If at the end of the playing season,
two or more players or pairs are tied for any one of these trophies, a single frame
play-off will be held to find one winner for each trophy.
- If funds sufficient then miniatures to be supplied
Interclub
- Any club may
only enter two teams for any one table that club has available at match times ie
if a club has two tables available on any playing night then that club may enter
up to four teams to play on that night.
- That Team Registration be at or prior to the AGM so we know
team numbers for the AGM
- That the season be run with 2 divisions from the start of
the season.First Division be top 8 From previous year plus top 2 teams from second
division giving a total of 10 teams. 2nd
Division the Format for 2 rounds home and away. Promotion is automatic
for the top 2 teams in division 2 at the end
of the round robin, and relegation is automatic for the bottom 2
teams in 1st Division

Team scoring is to be done as follows 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for 8/7 loss and should there be a tie then frame count is used
- Teams in First Division must contain minimum of 4 players
from the previous year to hold their position in Division 1 or they must apply to
the committee for approval to stay in 1st Division
- Fees
$50 Per
Venue Plus Players fee $150.00($25
per player for the first 6 players, no other players charged after the 6)
- The Starting Time for interclub matches shall be 7 Pm
- When a match is played on licensed premises any frames not
completed by legal closing time shall be forfeited at the discretion of the publican.
- That Tuesday Night Interclub competition be singles not
best of 3
- The Frames shall be played in the order of doubles first,
Singles second.
- Teams are to be written on to the playing cards before the
first frame is played. Names of playing order can only be changed by agreement between
captains
- Reserves. Any player may play as a reserve, but once they
have played three matches for any team they are deemed to be a member of that team.
- All players playing in finals round must be registered pool
players. i.e. The player must have played 3 times for that team and not be listed as a reserve..
- Any team or team member whose registration fee is overdue
will have any winning points forfeited.
- Players may transfer between Clubs during the playing season.
The person concerned must notify the president or secretary, in writing of any transfer
Prior to Playing for the new team.
- A Head Umpire is to be elected by the committee before the
playing season begins.
- The disputes Committee shall be
elected at the AGM.
- Disputes:
- In the event of a dispute between players and the umpire. The persons concerned
may take the protest to the Disputes Committee.
- Verbal notice must be given to the umpire and the opposing
team BEFORE the frame continues.
- Players
must play on to a result. If any player refuses to play on, they will forfeit the
frame if both sides refuse to play on the frame will be declared a non-match

No
protest may be lodged if the side disputing the umpire’s decision wins the frame.
– Only the players concerned or the team captain
may enter a protest.
- The Recording Officer must receive playing cards by Wednesday
9pm the week the match is played by delivery to the Letter box at 3 Nelson
Street, AWF, posted on the website, faxed to 5777222. If any card is not received. The offending
team/s shall forfeit winning points. But may
apply to the Disputes
committee with extenuating circumstances to get points reinstated.
- If any team defaults a match, the opposing team will receive
the same number of points as the highest scoring team on that night.
- Any player arriving more than 15 minutes after the starting
time of any interclub match shall forfeit any and all games in order of the card,
until arrival except by agreement between captains.
Tournaments
- That Tournament convenyor and/or sub committee will decide
where pool tournaments are to be held.
- Non-members of the Marlborough Pool Association are to pay
an entry fee of 50% more than registered players for any tournament.
- The four major annual tournaments i.e. Men’s Singles, Ladies
Singles, Men’s Doubles and Ladies Doubles are to be seeded by the convener
No other tournaments are to be seeded.
- Any player arriving more than 15 minutes after the starting
time of any tournament shall be disqualified at the discretion of the tournament
Organiser.
- When a player is called to the table in any tournament,
he is deemed to have gone to the table, If after 3 minutes the player is not there,
the first frame is forfeited, then after a further 3 minutes, the match is forfeited

That we pay out 80% in prize money and 20% to go towards the reps
Representative
- A Manager from the committee is to be appointed for all
representative matches at home and away. The appointed manager has full authority
to discipline any representative player at any time for any misconduct, as thought
fit.
- All trips away are to be fully priced before any such trip
is confirmed so that the association shall not be embarrassed by way of expenses.
- No
normal monies, i.e. Subs or Fees other than the 20% from tournaments as per
rule 32,are to representative teams expenses.
- A high standard of dress is required for all players participating
in any Marlborough tournament ( not including non-Rep ) T-shirts & Jandals,
will not be acceptable.
- Rep team uniforms shall be agreed upon within the Committee
and strictly adhered to.
