Minutes of the monthly meeting of Marlborough Pool Association Inc held on Monday 17th March, 2008 at the Podium at 7pm.

 

ATTENDANCE;         Lyn Bowman-Rutledge, Brian Smith, Tardy Landon-Lane, Max Barratt,

                                    Val McDonald, Greg Wells, Bruce Weallans, Greg Paul, Leanne Stowell.

 

APOLOGIES;             Mike Van Loon, Nicole Chauval and Owen Gray.

                                                Moved Val seconded by Greg W that the apologies be accepted.

 

PREVIOUS MINUTES;  The minutes of the meeting of 25th February, 2008 were distributed to

                                    the attending members and approved as a true and correct record of the

                                    meeting.     Moved Brian seconded Bruce                           carried.

 

MATTERS ARISING;    Nil

 

CORRESPONDENCE;   A.P.A. Newsletter

                                         Copies of Certificate of Incorporation

                                         

                                    A motion from the meeting is required to go with the funding applications

 

                                    “A motion approved for the Whakatu Hotel for 22 beds for the Seddon

                                    Shield Tournament,  This is for Bed and Breakfast at $35 per person.”

GENERAL BUSINESS;

                                    Nelson hasn’t set their dates yet – their meeting is 30/3.  When they arrive

                                    Tardy, Lyn and Val to get together and organise ours and the venues.

                                    Leeanne checked the cost of player registration and the venue registration as

                                    she had problems with the payment from Clubs of Marlborough’s payment.

                                    There is one Life Member – Barbara Patron – now the books balance.

                                    Calvin requires an invoice for the Royal Subs – Lyn to attend to.

                                    The Clubs of Marlborough Pool Section would like us to sponsor a table at the ladies Nationals in July.  To get back to them on this when we have a full committee

Greg Paul suggested that we look at fundraising and profiling the tournaments etc.  Give it some thought

 

Blind Pairs – do we want to run this as a starting tournament or at the            Prize – giving?

Do we want a sit down dinner this year for prize - giving

A memo will go out to the venues now that 1st Division has started to get the feeling of the players for the end of year function.

CLOSURE;                 There being no further business, the meeting closed at 7.45pm and the next meeting to be held at The Podium at 7pm on  21st April, 2008.
