Minutes of Marlborough Pool Association Inc committee held on Monday 21st July 2008 at The Royal Hotel at 7pm.

 

ATTENDANCE:  Lyn Bowman-Rutledge, Tardy Landon-Lane, Brian Smith, Max Barratt. Val MacDonald, Leanne Stowell, Mike Van Loon, Greg Hammond.

 

APOLGIES:        Greg Wells.

 

PREVIOUS MINUTES:  The minutes of the meeting of 16th June 2008 were distributed to the attending committee members and approved as a true and correct record of that meeting.      Moved MacDonald  seconded  Smith                            carried.

 

MATTERS ARISING;  End of year function – Horton Park $500 – much too dear for us.

Builders Arms Loft – Max to see and report back to next meeting

 

TREASURERS REPORT;   $4,579.85 in cheque account.  All accounts have been paid to hand.  We have all the subs in from the players and now are able to look at the end of year costs – i.e. figurines and the engraving costs.

Kerry Tinkler is meant to be in town next week and will be replacing the white balls from Woodbourne Tavern for the tournaments when the tables are open.

FUNDING;            All the information required has been forwarded and we are now awaiting their decision.  The committee meets twice a month – every 2nd Monday and hopefully our application will be looked at in a favorable light. – Nicole was not at the meeting and this information was taken on speaker phone.

 

GENERAL  BUSINESS;   Tops for the rep team -  The girls had to purchase special tops to play in the Ladies Tournament earlier this month for Chartered Clubs.  Can they play in them for the Seddon Shield instead of the waistcoats that do nothing for the female shape.

It was noted that Barry Kemp played for the Green Team last week (a Nelson Player) – also Shane Clarke (also a Nelson player) has played 3 games for the Pints.

Mike to apologise to Greg for his comments – Greg has also resigned as Trophy Officer.

Tardy to check up as to whether Barry Gane is able to play in the Nelson venue before naming his team.

Lyn to write a letter to WMC Pool section requesting the use of the tables for the men’s rep practice – to check with Tardy to see when he wants this.

 

CLOSURE:  There being no further business, the next meeting is set for 18th August – 7pm and the Royal Hotel again.  The meeting closed at 8.05pm.
