Minutes of the Marlborough Pool Association Inc committee held ay
Royal Hotel on Monday 16th June, 2008.

APOLOGIES: Nil
PREVIOUS MINUTES: The minutes of the meeting of 19th May 2008 were distributed to the members in attendance and passed as a true and correct record of that meeting.
Moved MacDonald, seconded Stowell carried.
MATTERS ARISING: Funding for 18 22 persons in hand application for Pelorus
Trust to get to their next meeting on 23/6/08.
End of year function prices not available yet should be available at the next meeting.
Letters to go to Predators and On Cue reminding them that the need 4 of the previous years players . Pete Chandler has already played 2 games for On Cue.
The minutes of the meeting of 2nd June were handed around this was just to organise the teams to play against Nelson on the 7th June.
A report on the mens games that the teams played well and looks good for Seddon Shield.
A report on the ladies games that the players all performed very well and Val is looking forward to good things from them also for Seddon Shield.
Concern was expressed on the lateness of commencing the games in Nelson 8.30 was too late for the players to be expected to perform at their best and play the final gales it was a huge day Also it should not have taken 1 ½ hours to play Best of 3 games. A letter to go over to Nelson with our concerns on this.
Transport help for car drivers Moved Smith seconded Landon-Lane That $10 per person to be paid to the driver of the car This will use all the available funds that will be accumulated over the tournaments for the year and the players will have to pay up themselves for the Seddon Shield tournament. Carried.

GENERAL BUSINESS: Green team and Pints team playing sheets to disputes committee.
After the problems with the game sheets the only people to get these are either Brian Smith or Lyn Bowman-Rutledge from the playing teams other teams will have to use the other options to get their results in on time.
Venue swap for the Ladies Singles on 28/6/08. Section play now at Podium and Springlands if needed and the Finals at Woodbourne Tavern it all depends on the number of entries.
Any problems that are experiences are to be directed to M.P.A.s Problem Solver Mike Van Loon he will come up with the required answers.
A Table Sponsorship for the Chartered Clubs Ladies Nationals of $200 was authorized by the members attending to show that we are supportive of the game in Marlborough. Mike abstained from voting on this.
