Minutes of the Marlborough Pool Association Inc held at Royal Hotel

PREVIOUIS MINUTES; The minutes of the meeting of 21st April, 2008 were distributed to the attending committee members and confirmed as a true and correct record. Moved Barratt seconded Van Loon carried.
MATTERS ARISING;
Funding: All in hand – signatures are now required for the applications.
Uniforms Look at this later in the year
Accommodation – Funding application is for the Seddon Shield tournament in September.
Prize giving Mike to look at the price for halls for end of year function.

Letter to Newspapers advising of the official spokespeople for Marlborough Pool Association.

FINANCIAL; Outstanding subscriptions are due from Mikeys Bar, Biddy Kates and Podium – then all the teams will be financial. The secretary to organise invoices for the above teams and deliver them.

GENERAL BUSINESS;
On Cue and Predators in first division are not running with 4 players from the team of the previous year. The criteria as 4 players from previous year or 3 players from previous year (the team has to apply to the committee for dispensation.) A letter to go to both teams notifying them that 4 players from last year to play this year as well.
A motion for next years AGM “That if the teams do not play 4 players from the previous year that they either apply to committee for dispensation or else be relegated to the 2nd Division.” This will only apply to first division teams of course.
Disputes Committee - a ruling from committee required for conduct issues that may be raised to committee.
Result – Rules are handled by the disputes committee and conduct by main committee.
Rep Trials = Men’s Wednesday 7pm at Royal and Women’s 6.30 Wednesdays at CoM.
Had Smith from the Okaramio Hotel died today – A card to be sent to the team and family. A table has been offered for the Outlaws games at Podium if required.
Special meeting Monday 2nd June at 6.30 at Royal to ratify the teams to play Nelson at Nelson on 7th June 10am.
CLOSURE; There being no further business, the next official meeting of MPA will be the 3rd Monday in June, 7pm at Royal Hotel. The meeting closed at 7.55pm.
N.B. Since the meeting – the Oki Outlaws have been taken under the wing of the Woodbourne Tavern for a home venue for the rest of the season as it is closer to the area that the players live in. A decision is still to be made on the situation at the Hotel at present. Players will be kept informed when details are settled.
