Minutes of Marlborough Pool Assn Inc.

16^th November, 2008 at Royal Hotel at 7pm.

ATTENDANCE; Leanne Stowell, Brian Smith, Mike Van Loon, Lyn Bowman-

Rutledge, Tardy Landon-Lane.

APOLOGIES; Nicole Chauval.

PREVIOUS MINUTES; The minutes of the meeting of 8^th October, 2008 were distributed to the attending committee members and confirmed as a true and correct record of that meeting. Moved Tardy seconded Brian carried.

MATTERS ARISING; The Seddon Shield tournament next year is to be held in Hokitika – get the contact for the Provincial Hotel to look at room rates – Lyn to see Calvin for this information.

TREASURERS REPORT; We have the funds in the following accounts. –

Cheque account $5,685.32

Savings Account $1,530.98

Recommend that the treasurer transfer $5,000 to the savings account.

CORRESPONDANCE; Next year the inter provincials will be held in Dunedin at Labour weekend. – something to think about if we are looking at attending.

Prize-giving certificates – a price to be worked on for Brian.

GENERAL BUSINESS;

Tuesday 29/9/09 to have all pool completed – including tournaments.

Saturday 3^rd October 09 – prize giving.

Remit suggestions for AGM next year – tidying up loose ends etc.

2 year ban for committee for members taking on a position and then quitting when they are required to do their job.

Trophies to stay at Patron’s venue in a cabinet

Trophies to go to the venue of the tournament and then returned to trophy cabinet.

Disputes committee handles all disputes

AGM venue – Vintage Farm Machinery building – 10/02/09 TBC

End of year Function – we will need a budget for this – Beer, wine. .orange juice..

Band, Hall hire –

Life membership – Ross Paton - ?

Next committee meeting 3^rd Monday in January – 19^th – 7pm at Royal.
