Marlborough Pool Association Inc minutes of Monday 21st April, 2008

Held at the Podium at 7pm.

PREVIOUS MINUTES;  The minutes of the meeting of 17th March 2008 were distributed to the members and confirmed as a true and correct record.

                                    Moved Weallans seconded Barratt                          carried.

 

MATTERS ARISING:    Nil.

 

CORRESPONDENCE;

                        N.Z.P.A. 8 Ball Tournament poster for Dunedin

                        Letter from Judy Kilmartin with a reply from The Sun – results

                        Pool Tournament dates for 2008.

                        Entries for tournaments

                        Emails from Elly Finnerty - re player not allowed to play from 06.

                           Bad debtor to NZPA and banned from tournaments.

                        N.Z.P.A. Tournaments.

 

FINANCIAL;

                        6 venues are financial and 5 are not.  Accounts to be sent to the relevant Venues.\

                        Account for stationery for secretary and fax cartridges   $90.00

                                    Reimbursements approved – Landon-:Lane/Weallans  carried.

 

GENERAL BUSINESS;

                        Funding – 3 applications are toe be submitted.’      

                        Pelorus Trust, Pub Charity and N,Z, Community Trust in that order.

                        The Pelorus Charitable Trust covers Top of the South and Wellington and

                        applications can only be placed 3 months before the tournament required for.

Transport costs - $900 for the 1 day to Nelson. 

Uniforms – apply for these with costs – see Mike for shirt catalogue prices.

A Trophy Cabinet – for the Patron’s venue – life members names on a shield.

Looking at a 2nd venue for score cards as the Podium is closed early on pool nights -  players have the option to fax or email in their results.

Newsletter – information required for the next issue – tournament dates now that they are finanlised, a reminder for all the teams to be financial with their subs paid, the correct filling in of the team sheets – they don’t look where they put the results.

Look at prices for the halls for the prize-giving .

Moved Weallans seconded Van Loon “That the trophies be returned 1 month before the tournament is held this year”         carried.

Ladies Practice for Nelson  Marlborough tournament – Wednesday 7th May to 4th June from 6.30 to 8.30 at Clubs of Marlborough.

 

CLOSURE;   There being no further business the meeting closed at 8pm and a further meeting is set for the Podium on Monday 19th May at 7pm.
